HEV SabreTool™ is Sabre Engineering's proprietary software model of hybrid vehicle dynamics. It embodies years of observation and data from the successful use of Sabre Engineering's first generation of hybrid vehicle controls. By analyzing both the vehicle and its hybrid component requirements, this software enables proper HEV system analysis to provide for a dependable and affordable hybrid system design. This all encompassing modeling package analyzes power creation, power stored and power consumed on a dynamic hybrid vehicle. In addition, the software models vehicle motion and use cycles as well as environmental conditions. Key benefits Sabre Engineering provided the control system for the Denver Regional Transportation Districts, EcoMark series hybrid shuttle bus. This fleet of EcoMark buses transports upwards of 50,000 passengers daily and has operated 24x7 since 1999. The controls developed and manufactured for this bus operate every electrical device on board from propulsion to power generation, from the doors to the drivers display unit, and from the pneumatic suspension to the hydraulic steering. This system was fully tested by the FTA and has completed many miles of successful operation. By compiling the knowledge and lessons learned, Sabre Engineering has developed a software modeling platform for analyzing HEV requirements to provide a very efficient electrical control design. This model is not based upon theory; rather it is based on real world observations of hundreds of thousands of successful operational hours.
