Sabre Engineering provided the custom control system required to operate every system from propulsion to power generation and doors to steering on this HEV shuttle bus. This control system including its adaptive software was fully documented and supported. The EcoMark fleet is operated by the Denver Regional Transportation District on the Denver 16th Street Mall. The EcoMark carry in excess of 50,000 passengers daily with a 24x7 operation. Each shuttle is capable of carrying 115 passengers and yet it produces only 1/60 the emissions of a conventional diesel bus. Such conventional diesel buses are also smaller in size and carry only half the passenger load of the EcoMark. The EcoMark was thoroughly tested and approved by the Federal Transit Authority. During this rigorous testing, the control system experienced a zero defect and zero malfunction record. Mr. Robert Schmitz, president of Sabre Engineering, designed the control system and its software which resulted in four US patents with more pending for the innovative adaptive control system and its methods.
